"Voice is the change in the form of the verb to show whether its subject is the doer or the receiver of the action.  In other words whether the verb is in the Active Voice or the Passive Voice."  Marie is engrossed in repairing the seabridge, but she pauses between the hammerings long enough to provide examples of the Active Voice and the Passive Voice.
