Lesson 27: Classification Of Verbs
(4:54)
"A verb is the main predicate of a sentence. It may be one word or a group of words. A verb of more than one word is called a Verb Phrase. Most words in a sentence are related to the verb." Marie is exploring a whimsical driftwood beach fort built by some neighborhood children. She explains that verbs are classified in three ways: by what they express, (action, possession, existence); by their meaning, (transitive, intransitive, copula); and, by their uses in a verb phrase.
