Lesson 22: Inflection Of Pronouns For Number And Gender
(5:31)
"Remember, inflection means change. Pronouns change form to indicate singular or plural. Pronouns change form to indicate sex." Marie is now up in her loft bedroom sorting through books in order to make a donation to the local literacy center. As she leafs through the books she provides singular and plural examples of personal pronouns, interrogative pronouns, demonstrative pronouns, and indefinite pronouns. She then uses examples of third person singular pronouns inflected for masculine gender, feminine gender, and neuter gender, to show that only pronouns in the third person singular are inflected for gender.
