Lesson 6: Pronouns

A candle-lit dinner party with dear friends and her cats Schuster and Chaim provides an opportunity for Marie to enlighten us about pronouns. "Jacque, Sherry, Bob and I are here for dinner. Now I can shorten that sentence by using one pronoun as the subject. We are here for dinner." As she serves her guests wine, salads, steaks, condiments, coffee and dessert, Marie provides sample sentences and examples to illustrate the seven kinds of pronouns: subjective pronouns, objective pronouns, possessive pronouns, compound personal pronouns, demonstrative pronouns, interrogative pronouns and indefinite pronouns. While fetching some ice cream from the freezer she reads a list of indefinite pronouns that she has posted on her refrigerator door.
